The New Milford Education Foundation's Teacher Grants are paying off in student educational experiences. As educators spend the funding they received from NMEF, students are being provided academic opportunities above and beyond the quality education already offered at the New Milford School District.

Grants to Enhance Educational Experience For New Milford Students.
The New Milford Education Foundation has announced they will award 16 grants totaling $18,000 - $20,000 to 16 teachers and 4 schools throughout the district.
The New Milford Education Foundation has been proud to provide donations of teacher grants in the past five years totaling over $60,000 to forty-one teachers throughout the district to enhance established curricula throughout each school. This year, we are happy to report that we will be donating to all sixteen grants in their entirety or in some capacity totaling between $18,000-$20,000.

The New Milford Education Foundation 2023 Teacher Grant recipients are:
- James DeLalla - The Power of Our Words book for every staff member at David E Owens Middle School and 10 team copies of 50 Brain Breaks. Both books will be used to continue work already started in the Responsive Classroom initiative.
- Jamie McHugh - Adaptive Board Books to add to her classroom library at BF Gibbs School to increase beginning reading skills, reading, and comprehension.
- Bonnie Taylor - 3D printer Makerbot filament for her business students at New Milford High School. The students will use the printer to design and print items for sale.
- Patricia Polizzi-Walker - Monthly cooking lessons through Fun with Food for her students at BF Gibbs School to provide and meet communication, social pragmatic, fine motor skills, and expand the food repertoire of her students.
- Gianna Acevedo - Items to create a calming corner within the Child Study Team office at Berkley School, such as cozy corner tent, fidget toys, seat cushions, and carpeting. It will be open to both special education and general education students.
- Tyler Anewalt - Twenty (20) Manfrotto high quality and durable tripods for his Digital Media, Digital Darkroom and Video Production Courses at New Milford High School.
- Jaclyn Remo - Fertilized eggs for chicken hatching in the Kindergarten classrooms at Berkley School.
- Jesscia Yager - An all school inspirational speaker assembly at New Milford High School. Speaker to be determined.
- Sean Ryan - New dumbbells for the fitness center at New Milford High School.
- Feryal Gabro - Items for her IEP students at David E Owens to have a brain break and calming station such as board games, book titles and fidget items.
- Mary Sullivan - Items to update a much needed faculty space at David E Owens school.
- Lauren Lavelle - Items to create a school garden for students in the Peer Leadership Art class at David E Owens Middle School.
- Joseph Ricciardelli - A new LegPress for the fitness center at the New High School.
- Kayleigh Orocchi - New refrigerator for the nurse's office at New Milford High School for students' medications.
- Keith Devereaux - New shelving units for the New Milford High School student store.
- Lauren Finizia - Field trip to Chelsea in NYC for gallery walk through to view artwork and lessons on how to frame artwork professionally for upcoming art show with New Milford High School art students.
- Julia Berenshtein, Orchestra teacher at David E. Owens Middle School and New Milford High School was furnished with 30 new folding chairs to complete the rehearsal space so all her students at DEO will have new chairs during classes.
- So happy to be able to purchase a new Roland electronic drum kit, including a bass drum pedal and snare drum stand for Mr. Maloupis and his students for his Digital Music and World Music classes at David E. Owens Middle School.
