Improving Public Education Through Initiatives

How we help!The New Milford School District, like all others in the state and across the nation, is confronted by the ever-increasing challenge of funding public education. Escalating costs, expanding enrollment, and decreasing state aid must be offset by alternative sources of funding if the District is to maintain the extraordinary range and caliber of academic, extra-curricular, athletic and social opportunities which have been it’s standard.
There has never been a more important time to support our school district to ensure that critical initiatives are maintained and funded. The New Milford Education Foundation (NMEF) is a 501 (c) (3) corporation and is independent of the New Milford School District. The NMEF seeks to attract resources from private sources to help bring to life educational programs that tax dollars do not cover.
The New Milford Education Foundation will help enable the District to continue to be the model of visionary social and educational leadership.The NMEF believes that we can improve public education through initiatives in providing grants, scholarships, professional development, and support of cultural arts.

​WE FUND GRANTS:
Through our grant process, the NMEF hopes to provide resources to assist the District teachers and administrators in supporting innovative programs and projects that help the children in our community.

​WE FUND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
In the future the NMEF hopes to assist the District teachers in professional development programs.

​WE AWARD SCHOLARSHIPS:
The NMEF would like to continue to provide financial assistance to graduating New Milford High School seniors through a scholarship program.

​HOW WE DO IT:
The New Milford Education Foundation will be able to fund grants, capital improvements and professional development programs, and awards grants thanks to the generous support of donors and the participation of friends in our events. We need you to get involved!
