NMEF Gives District PTOS A Total Of $1K At Back To School Nights
At each of the four recent New Milford School District Back to School Nights, the New Milford Education Foundation presented a PTO president a check for $250, totaling $1,000.
The NMEF organizes events to raise funds to give New Milford students an academic edge.
“When we were first starting out, each PTO supported us with starter funds,” new NMEF President Christopher Ryan told three of the four crowds of parents and teachers gathered for the events.
"Tonight we’d like to give it back.” (Ryan couldn’t attend the high school Back to School Night because, as a teacher in the Hackensack School District, he was attending his own Back to School Night.)
Most PTO presidents found the checks to be a nice surprise.
“With the support of local parents and generous businesses, we are meeting our growth goals,” Ryan said, “and the NMEF believed this was the right thing to do at this time.”
